The Apple Pie of a GF’s Eye!

Here’s a sugar-free/gluten-free apple pie sure to please!

Make pie crust to recipe

Ingredients:

5-6 granny smith or golden delicious apples, peeled and sliced

1/2 cup milk

2 tbsp lemon juice

1/3 cup splenda

1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon

1 heaping tbsp of gluten-free all purpose flour

1/2 tsp of nutmeg

1/2 tsp salt

2 tbsp of cold butter, sliced

1 tbsp butter, melted

1 tbsp splenda

Place apples, lemon juice, splenda, nutmeg, salt, cinnamon, flour, and milk in large bowl.  Stir until blended.  Pour into bottom pie crust.  Place sliced butter evenly over top of apples.  Put on top crust and seal edges.  Cut slits in top or pattern.  Brush on melted butter and sprinkle with splenda.  Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes, covering the edges with foil or pie crust shield for the first 15.
